Curcuit City Liquidation Horror Story:

While the closure of Circuit City may mean excellent (and not so excellent) deals on video games and electronics, it can also mean buyer remorse. Especially when one considers the "All sales are final" policy.

Reader John tells us his tale of nonreturnable woe, a massive disappointment to the tune of $7.50.

"I went into Circuit City today to capitalize on their misfortune, and saw a copy of Resident Evil 4 for PS2 on sale for $7.50. Upon waiting in the checkout line, I saw a sign that said, 'All sales are final.' I figured it was fine, because, for seven bucks, you couldn't go wrong. Well, you could."

John continues. "I got home and opened my purchase to see this monstrosity of a game disc. Also I can't play or return it. All I have to say is: 'Shit.'"

Buyer beware. And if anyone sees "Danny"—who probably also returned a no-longer-working paper shredder to the same Circuit City—make sure to give him the world's most painful charlie horse. He deserves it.

PS3 - Heavy Rain - The Most Realistic Graphics Ever?

New screenshots for the Playstation 3 game "Heavy Rain" are released. These look like the most realistic graphics seen in the ever evolving gaming industry. This is supposed to be an adult oriented game with the emphasis on interacting with the characters. Listed as an adult RPG, Heavy Rain is currently scheduled for release on December 31st 2009.

Sony announces PSP-3000 for fall 2008.

Sony has officially announced the release of it's latest version portable PSP unit, the PSP-3000. Claimed to have a better screen and a new PSP button, the unit will hit the states around October 2008 and should be available for about $199. It comes in stunning silver and piano black.

Grand Theft Auto IV beats Halo 3 in first week sales.

By now I'm sure Microsoft and Take-Two are singing "We're in the money"... and they're doing it all the way to the bank! Grand Theft Auto IV has officially beat Halo 3 in first day AND first week sales making it the new top dog. World wide GTA IV pulled in over $310 million (3.6 million units) on opening day and $500 million (6 million units) in it's first week. Opening day sales made about $10 million more than Halo 3 made in it's first week. Xbox 360 sales have also jumped 54% from the previous week says Microsoft. Sony also reports an increase in it's PS3 console sales although they don't mention specifics. It seems the "M" rating has not seemed to slow down sales, in fact possibly helping it among adult buyers. Several reputable game sites have given GTA IV a perfect 10 review! Do you have yours yet?

Next Generation Motion Controller For All Consoles Plus PC?

Companies Motus and Gyration are rumored to be working on a next generation motion controller similar to the Nintendo's Wii controller. It's also rumored to work with PS3, Wii, XBOX 360 and PC. Motus currently has a controller called "Darwin" (pictured), but they deny working with Microsoft on a new controller rumored to be called "Newton". Will the future (or the next big thing) of gaming be all motion sensitive?
